Goal Type:

Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I plan to run the Austin Freescale Marathon on Feb. 15.  I have done three half marathons, and numerous 10Ks and 5Ks.  I typically run about a 10-minute mile, and am satisfied with that.  Whenever I beat it, I'm thrilled!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Complete a full marathon.  Continue to run half marathons.

Long-Term Running Goals:

One full marathon.  A half marathon a year.  Multiple 10Ks and 5Ks that look fun or interesting!

Personal:

Married to the kindest man I know.  He doesn't run, but rides his bike along with me and carries water, hammer gels, jackets, or anything else I need.  I have four grown kids.  The youngest runs track and cross country for the University of Texas.

It was a cold and rainy day.  The first 8 miles it was cloudy and cold, but no rain.  I started the run my second favorite running shoes, Saucony.  My feet began to feel fatigued, so I went ahead and changed into my favorite running shoes, the Hoka Clifton.  Wow, what a comparative difference! At this point it was drizzly, and at times a light rain.  I had a rain jacket, my tights, long-sleeved shirt, cap and gloves.  I was determined to finish this 19-mile run.  My feet got a little wet, but not soaked, so it was okay.  My husband stayed with me in his track, and provided dry gloves for me when I needed them.  He's the absolute best!

Hoping for a good marathon for you next month. You say in your accomplishments you typically run 10 minute miles, I think you were running 8:30 the day we met! :-)

Welcome to the Blog. We're a group that extend from coast to coast with about that much of a difference in talents and abilities. One thing we all share is a love for running and a will to become better(or at least not lose what we have). Happy Birthday this weekend and Good Luck in your up coming marathon.
